Do you offer a free consultation?

Do you take insurance?
While we don’t bill insurance directly, many clients can obtain reimbursement by submitting their session receipts to their insurance providers. We suggest checking with your insurer to confirm coverage for psychotherapy services with a Registered Psychotherapist.
Do you offer sliding scale or reduced rates?
We strive to make therapy accessible. Sliding scale spots may be available on a short-term basis. Please feel free to inquire.
What are your session fees?
The fee for a 50-minute individual psychotherapy session is $160. There is no HST on psychotherapy services in Ontario.
What ages do you work with?
We offer online and in-person individual psychotherapy for children ages 8+, pre-teens, adolescents, and adults.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You can book a free 15-minute consultation to explore what therapy offers. This can help you decide if therapy with us may be a good choice for you. If you decide to try therapy, you can always change your mind and stop sessions.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session offers a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brings you in, your goals, and how we can work together. Please feel free to share your thoughts at your own pace.
What types of therapeutic approaches do you use?
We use various therapeutic approaches. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Additionally, we tailor each session to your needs and preferences by blending techniques from various therapeutic approaches. You can find more information about these approaches on our services page.
Do I need a referral to start?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly on our website or reach out to inquire about starting sessions.
Is what I share with you kept confidential and private?
Yes. What you share in therapy remains private. However, there are a few legal exceptions. For instance, we must break confidentiality if we learn that you face a serious and imminent risk of harm. We also must break confidentiality if we have concerns about child abuse. We must do the same for elder abuse concerns or if a court orders us to do so (eg. a subpoena). Your privacy is protected under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). It is also safeguarded by the ethical standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
All sessions are conducted on secure, encrypted platforms.
What is your cancellation or no-show policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will be liable for the full session fee. Missing the session without notice also results in full liability for the session fee.
I understand that unexpected things come up, and I always approach each situation with care and fairness. If you’re unsure whether a fee applies, feel free to send me an email.
